My mother is 81 and had turned down a proper grab bar twice because she said it would make her bathroom look like a nursing home. This one she actually likes. It took me longer to get the box open than it did to put it up.

We rent, so drilling into the tile was never going to happen. I pressed it onto the wall beside the tub, pushed the two levers down and that was it. My husband hung off it pretty hard to test it and it did not move.

Bought one after my knee replacement. Getting back out of the tub was the part I genuinely dreaded. Having something solid to hold at the step-over changed that completely. Ordered a second one for the shower wall a week later.

No drill. No screws. No holes.

Two 3.75-inch vacuum cups do the job a wall anchor normally does. Press the bar flat against smooth tile, flip both levers down, and the air is pulled out from under the seals. Nothing goes into your wall — so there is nothing to patch when it comes off.

    forward_5

    Up in about ten seconds

No drill, no masonry bit, no stud finder, no anchors, no handyman quote and no week-long wait for an appointment. You hold it where you want it, push, and flip two levers. Most people have it mounted before they have finished reading the box.

    weight

Move it wherever you need it

Flip the levers back up and it lifts off clean in a second. Inside the shower for washing, beside the tub for the step-over, in the guest bathroom when your parents visit, in a hotel you will never see again. It is the only bar that is not a permanent decision.

      Why 10,000+ People Use TileLock.

A drilled steel bar means finding a stud behind tile, a permanent hole and — if you rent — a conversation with your landlord. A towel rail was never built to be held at all. TileLock locks onto the tile in seconds, holds where you actually need it, and lifts off without leaving a mark.

I'm 74 and I live on my own. I had been steadying myself on the towel rail getting out of the shower, which my daughter kept telling me was a terrible idea. She was right. This is the thing I should have bought two years ago.

Measure your tiles first — mine are only just big enough and the cups have to sit on one tile, not over a grout line. Once I shifted it across an inch it locked on solid and it has been there ever since. I give it a push before I get in, same as you'd test a ladder.

Took it to my daughter's place at Christmas, put it up in her guest bathroom, took it down again when we left. Not a mark on her tile. That is the entire reason I bought it instead of a screwed-in one.

      No Holes. No Landlord Conversation.

A drilled grab bar means locating a stud behind tile, a masonry bit, four anchors and a hole you can never fully undo. If you rent, it usually means asking permission first and patching it later. TileLock holds with two vacuum-lock cups instead — press it on, flip the levers, and there is nothing in your wall to repair when it comes off.

      check_circle
Ten Seconds, Not A Handyman Appointment

Having a bar fitted properly is usually a $150 to $300 job once you have paid someone to find the stud and drill through the tile — and you wait a week for the slot. This goes up the day it arrives. Hold it where you want it, press it flat, push two levers down. That is the whole installation.

      check_circle
One Bar That Goes Wherever You Need It

Flip the levers up and it lifts off in a second with nothing to patch. Horizontal on the back wall for washing and turning, vertical beside the tub for the step-over, in the guest bathroom when family stay, in a hotel bathroom on holiday. Most owners end up with one in each spot.

Try TileLock Risk-Free For 60 Days

Put it up the day it arrives and live with it for two months. If it doesn't earn its place on your wall, email us for a full refund — and keep the Bathroom Safety Guide.

      FAQs

      check_box

How much weight will it hold?

It is a steadying and balance aid, not a full body-weight anchor — that is the manufacturer's own guidance for every suction-cup bar on the market, ours included. Use it to steady yourself stepping in, turning and stepping out. If you need something that will take your entire weight or stop a fall, you need a bar bolted through into studs, and we would rather tell you that now than sell you the wrong thing.

      check_box

Will it stick to my bathroom wall?

It needs a smooth, flat, non-porous surface: ceramic and porcelain tile, glass, acrylic, fibreglass panels and glazed stone all work. It will not hold on textured or patterned tile, unsealed natural stone, drywall or painted plaster. The part people miss: each 3.75-inch cup has to sit completely on ONE tile. If your tiles are smaller than 4 inches, or a cup would land across a grout line, it cannot seal — so measure before you order.

      check_box

How often should I check it?

Give it a firm push before each use, the same way you would test a ladder. A vacuum seal is a physical seal and it relaxes gradually over days or weeks, faster in heat and steam. If it feels at all loose, flip the levers up, wipe both the tile and the cup completely dry, and press it back on — about ten seconds, and it is back to full hold.

      check_box

      Can I mount it vertically?

Yes, and plenty of owners do. Horizontal along the back wall is best for steadying yourself while you turn or wash. Vertical, beside the tub edge or the shower entrance, gives you something to hold at several different heights as you step over. It is the same bar either way — most people end up with one of each.

      check_box

How do I actually put it up?

Clean and dry the tile first — this matters more than anything else you will do. Flip both grey levers up, hold the bar where you want it, press it firmly flat against the tile, then push each lever down until it sits flat. That is it. To move it, flip the levers back up and lift it off. No tools come in the box because none are needed.

      check_box

What if it doesn't work for me?

No risk. You're covered by our 60-day money-back guarantee. If your tile turns out to be wrong for it, or it simply isn't what you hoped, send it back for a full refund — and keep the Bathroom Safety Guide. No questions, no hassle.

      check_box

Do the cups ever lose suction?

They can, and any brand that tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. A vacuum seal relaxes over time, and steam and soap film on the tile speed that up. That is exactly why there is a lever on each cup — a quick flip up and back down re-seats the seal in seconds. Wipe the tile and the cups dry every couple of weeks and it holds far longer. If a cup ever stops sealing altogether, that is what the five-year warranty is for: message us and we will send you a new bar.
